Motor Design repairs cars and commercial vehicles of almost all makes, from small mechanical repairs to complex engine faults.
What we check and do
- Engine – leaks, timing, cooling, ignition and fuel supply
- Drivetrain – clutch, drive shafts and gearbox
- Exhaust – leaks, mountings and noise
- Cooling system – in case of overheating or coolant loss
- Suspension and steering – shock absorbers, springs, control arms, bushes and steering
Suspension and steering
Knocking over speed bumps, a car that pulls to one side, unevenly worn tyres or vibrations in the steering wheel? That can point to wear in the shock absorbers, control arms, bushes or steering components.
We check your suspension and tell you honestly what is needed now and what can wait.
Why diagnose first?
A fault code or a symptom does not always tell you where the problem really is. That is why we carry out targeted checks first, before replacing anything. We cannot make a definitive diagnosis remotely or over the phone; we can tell you what we are going to check and how we will go about it.
Sound familiar?
- Strange noise
- Vibrations
- Oil leak
- Overheating
- Loss of power
- Knocking in the suspension
Frequently asked questions
Do I get a price first for a repair?
Yes. After the inspection you first get an explanation and a price. We only start the repair once you agree.
Can you work on my make of car?
Motor Design is an independent multi-brand garage. We work on almost all makes of cars and light commercial vehicles. Not sure? Send us the make, model and year.
What if something else comes up during the repair?
Then we contact you first. We do not carry out extra work without your approval.
